Hemp vs. Trees: It's a Knockout!

A persuasive argument on the benefits of Hemp.

Noah McNamara.

Hemp: more sustainable than anything

  • For instance we’ll take trees, when you cut down a tree just try and guess how many products can you make. 2, 3 maybe even 4 but hemp is used for 50,000 products from anything like planes to medicine.

Save humongous amounts of water

  • For example, over 15 trillion Litres of water each and every year is put into growing trees while hemp uses 91% less water to grow. So if we start planting and harvesting hemp we can save trillions of litres every year and if we do this we can put a good amount of that water towards filling up lakes rivers.

The best plant to grow

  • For instance, hemp can accomplish something called carbon sequestration which is when hemp takes carbon dioxide and traps it into the soil so it isn’t released into the air. This means that in big cities you can grow hemp not just to generate anything but it can also trap a part of the carbon dioxide that’s in your house. You’re probably thinking what happens to the carbon dioxide that stored in the soil, well hemp can also complete something called bioremediation. Bioremediation is were hemp can clean polluted soil and leave no trace.

The time has come to change

Obviously we’d be better of if we stopped chopping down trees and started planting hemp in order to eliminate this cause of deforestation completely. So, we need to stop what we’re doing, and if we do, we can save vital amounts of water, reduce amounts of carbon dioxide and take sustainability to the next level. The time has come to change, so stop buying typical paper and buy hemp paper!
