What People Say
EDF Energy
I really valued Justin’s expert guidance and support during his partnership with us (EDF Energy) to design and deliver our talent assessment programme. His clear expertise continually impressed us and helped to keep us on the right track with respect to objectivity, robustness of process, analytical insights and effectiveness of design. In terms of working relationship, I personally found him to be very helpful, understanding and patient, supporting us to find balanced, tailored solutions to some very particular needs. His expertise and personable manner means I have easily learned to trust and value his guidance and input.
Network Rail
I have worked with Justin whilst at Network Rail and subsequently on and off and have always enjoyed working with him on projects. He is very thorough and insightful but as well as these talents, the thing that stands out for me is that Justin is the only person I know who gets genuinely excited about psychological assessment and statistics....and understands it all! Being passionate about a subject is not something you can teach and this passion is a true strength. He is always the person I go to when I have questions about selection and psychometrics because as well as liking the subject and knowing about it he also keeps up to date with the latest research and is always looking for innovation. I would always recommend Justin to anyone wishing to do work in the areas of selection, talent management, leadership, organisational development and cultural change.
Warner Brothers
I have worked with Justin in various guises over the last 6 years, most recently with the design and facilitation of our annual Developing Leaders Programme. He is an absolute pleasure to work with; managing to balance being a true subject matter expert when it comes to all things assessment and development, with being a really lovely person to be around. Justin has been and will continue to be a huge inspiration to me and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone who wants to deliver results grounded in solid psychological and statistical insight.
Revelian
We were fortunate recently to have Justin facilitate a full-day statistics session with the Revelian R&D Psychs. While the focus was on the use of a number of R packages and RStudio, Justin customised his approach and content so as to relate explicitly to our particular context. The feedback from all involved was highly favourable and indicated not only an enhanced level of confidence but also real value gains for future work applications. All this achieved with a relaxed and informal style of training, which further enhanced our learning and general experience of the day. An expert in this field, I would strongly recommend Justin’s training for anyone looking to enhance their knowledge and level of expertise in the areas of statistics and psychometrics.
Justin at People Excellence has supported BHP for two years now on a variety of people analytics projects, including: 1. Exploring alternative predictors of high potential 2. Advanced analyses on our employee engagement survey results & 3. Supporting the creation of a custom leadership assessment tool that draws heavily on the Habitus Personality Questionnaire. We enjoy the partnership that has formed and look forward to it continuing in the future.
Working with Justin closely over the last few months to support a client in understanding the effectiveness and power of their assessment process has been rewarding and enjoyable. His technical knowledge and insight has been highly impressive, and I have been constantly wowed by the insight that he has helped provide. Alongside that, and almost as important, he has the empathy needed and the ability to translate complex technical findings into clear messages both for me and for the clients with which we are working. And what's more he does all this with a smile and a splash of humour!

Justin has been a trusted partner and associate of YSC for the past 5 years, working across multiple FTSE 100 clients and projects. Alongside his unique capacity to blend expertise in organisational psychology and evidence-based theory with a sophisticated understanding of business context, he brings huge reserves of energy, creativity, humour and patience. His pro-active approach and ability to think forward makes him a consummate centre manager – someone who knows exactly when to challenge and when to adapt. His ideas are always value adding and grounded in up-to-date research. As a result, he builds fantastic partnerships and is a real asset to any client or team.
I worked with Justin on a number of major projects during his time with Network Rail. I have always found him to be intelligent, insightful and above all engaged in the work he has undertaken. His main strength, in my mind, is to take some of the more esoteric elements of occupational psychology and translate this into solid commercial recommendations, something that has been missing with some consultants we have used! His work on our graduate selection model was invaluable and we were able to adopt his strategies and recommendation almost without revision. I would recommend Justin’s services to anyone looking for a serious occupational psychologist with a strong commercial approach.
Justin has supported me on a wide range of projects over the past five years. Always an absolute pleasure to work with, he stands out in terms of his technical knowledge, his conscientious approach to delivery and his breadth of experience. Justin truly is an assessment expert and he keeps up to date with developments in his professional space. I've found him to be consistently client-focused, rigorous in his thinking and execution and a truly ethical and considerate practitioner. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to any organisation!
Justin is an insightful and considered and continues to be an inspiration for me after 10 years of association. The depth and breadth of his knowledge coupled with a wisdom that he truly lives make him a close confidant to many people that value personal growth and business success. I recommend Justin for anyone looking to improve their business outcomes through tried and tested recruitment and selection techniques and for anyone looking to be inspired.
I worked with Justin when he was a psychologist with Network Rail. Justin is approachable, professional and provided valuable guidance and assistance in building our assessment centres. He has a versatile skill set and demonstrated this by writing and delivering a role profiling training course to the entire resourcing community. I have no hesitation in recommending Justin.
Justin's dedication and prescision in completing tasks, his level of insight in problem solving, his flawless communication skills and his positive nature all made him a joy to work with. He has many talents but his ability to create organisationally acceptable solutions based on a sound theoretical background was one that stood out. I would not hesitate to recommend Justin.
Justin is passionate about his work and it shows in his outputs. Professional, solution-focused, always positive and an asset to any organisational setting - a pleasure to work with.
Justin is a great psychologist but his real talent lies in breaking down the science behind the psychology and applying it to commercial scenarios. Always good fun to work with, Justin strikes the right balance in training/explaining in plain English but never patronising. He has a real energy and passion for Human Factors and I look forward to working with him again soon.
Justin is a remarkably insightful occupational psychologist. He is attentive in his observations and follows up with reflective and considered thinking. This enables him to be incredibly precise in his feedback and recommendations for options and solutions.
